When I reached age 50 life became better. Fifty is a magnificent time of life. As women, we are endowed with gifts, talents, insights and so much more. In the past, age 50 meant a time to seriously consider issues that a loving society programmed us to ponder and most times worry about. Now we are in a new place – a place to recreate, regenerate, and restore. With every thought within, we must fight for our moments, our creativity, our desires, our dreams and our passion. The reality is that because we are living much longer, and most of us began working in our early 20’s, there are more retirement years than non working years. We are in the “Third Chapter” as appropriately coined by Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, Professor of Education at Harvard. For me it was finally a time to reinvent, resurge, find and live my life’s passion. The experience beginning at age 50 gives birth to a new reality that arises from a passion that has burned deep most of our lives. Finally, at age 50, we hit Fastonomy™, the rapid movement from who we are to who we know we can become!
